The team reached Islamabad on the 10th of December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This Russian team is known for attempting and, almost always attaining, some of the toughest mountaineering tasks. The team comprises of highly experienced mountaineers with a long list of high achievements collectively as well as individually, each climber having two or three 8000m ascents to his name<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Their\u00a0first attempt was at Lhotse where they climbed direct route, the second was at Mountain Everest, again direct and new route<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23807\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23807\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pamirtimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Russian-K2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-23807\" title=\"Russian K2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pamirtimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Russian-K2-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23807\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Russian team leader explaining his plan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">successfully, and back in 2004 their target was K2&#8217;s West Wall, a straight direct walk where they successfully reached the summit on a new route.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now coming back to the savage mountain, the team under leadership of Mr. Viktar Kozlov wishes to make yet another record of climbing the world&#8217;s toughest mountain in harsh winter. They plan to climb Cesen Route\u00a0up to\u00a07560m. From there they will attempt to make a new route to reach the summit, 8611m above the sea level.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">While unsure about the exact date for attempting the ascent, this Russian team has calculated some good weather windows around the end of January and the first week of\u00a0February, with the help of their weather forecast partner in Austria.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Russian Expedition, outfitted by Adventure Tours Pakistan, held a press conference at Alpine Club of Pakistan with Secretary ACP Mr. Abu Zafar. The team is leaving Islamabad for Skardu where they are plan to spend some days around \u00a0Sadpara Mountains for\u00a0acclimatization. They also plan to take five or six trips of helicopters flights to transfer all their man and material to the base camp where they will be supported by four high altitude porters to help and complete the base camp. They plan to climb without Oxygen, by fixing approximately\u00a02 km long rope.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div>The team consist of\u00a0Viktor Kozlov team leader,\u00a0Alexey Bolotov,\u00a0Vladimir Belous,\u00a0Nikolai Totmianin,\u00a0Valery Shamalo,\u00a0Vitaliy Gorelik<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ilias Tukhvatullin,\u00a0Andrey Mariev,\u00a0Vadim Popovich and\u00a0Evgeny Vinogradskiy having 4 8000m ascents to his name.\u00a0Nikolay Chernyy 73, is the oldest man in the team 73 years and he has remained the coach and summitter of\u00a0Everest\u00a0in 1982.
