Islamabad, May 16<\/strong>: \u00a0Air Eagle , a private company, is starting chartered flights for Gilgit-Baltistan from the 22nd of May, 2014. <\/span><\/p>\n

These planes will be used initially<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Talking to Pamir Times, Shah Saleem Khan, the man behind the initiative, said that initially the flights will be operated between Islamabad and Gilgit and the service can be expanded to Skardu, based on passengers’ demand. He said that each ticket on the chartered flight will cost 10,000 rupees.<\/span><\/p>\n

The residents of Gilgit-Baltistan and tourists, alike, suffer due to the non-availability of flights and recurring closure of the Karakuram Highway due to natural disasters and protests.<\/p>\n

The chartered flights may prove to be a viable alternate mode of transportation for the passengers.<\/p>\n
