\u0413\u0438\u043b\u0433\u0438\u0442:<\/strong> The Karakoram International University is considering imposition of a new dress code for male and female students, focused on promotion of \u201cHaya\u201d, or modesty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to a draft document, on which a decision is yet to be taken, making the rounds on social media, students violating the proposed dress code will face punitive actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The proposed dress code bans \u2018shorts of any kind\u2019, as well as \u2018loose neck\u2019 and \u2018see-through\u2019 and \u2018skin-tight\u2019 dresses. \u201cLow hanging pants\u201d, shirts with \u2018big pictures on front and back\u2019 as well as a sunglasses and p-caps will also not be allowed inside classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Female students will be required to wear at least \u2018knee-length shirts.\u2019 Girls who choose to keep their hair open will not be allowed on campus, according to the proposed code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Violators of the proposed code will be punished \u2018progressively\u2019, starting with verbal warning, escalated to fines (Rs.1000). Repeat \u201coffenders\u201d may end up getting terminated from the university, if so decided by a \u201cDisciplinary Committee\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Netizens have divded views on the proposed dress codes.
