Contingents of Boys scouts and police saluted the national flag. Chief Guest of the ceremony was Group Captain (r) Shah Khan, commander of the Eskimo Force, hero of the war of independence of Gilgit \u2013 Baltistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Also present in the ceremony was finance secretary of the GB administration, Syed Mutahir Shah, among other government officials. In his speech the chief guest said that the independence gained on November 1, sixty three years ago, shall be put to use in welfare of the general public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The chief guest laid floral wreaths on Yaadgar-e-Shuhada, located in Chinar Bagh, near the legislative assembly building, at the bank of Hanisara river.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">On this occasion students of different schools of Gilgit city participated in the independence day rally, starting from <em>High school number Aik<\/em>, near Garhi Bagh.
