Khomar: Link road blocked against non payment of compensation

Gilgit, December 10: People in Khomar Damot locality of Gilgit city have closed a link road by placing slabs and blocks in the middle. They are protesting against non payment of price for the land that was acquired for the construction of this road.

Talking the media, the affectees saidthat  their land was acquired six years ago but the compensation has not been paid yet. They said that the road would not be opened till the payment because they were facing hardship as their houses were demolished for the construction.

“We got loans from banks for  reconstruction of our houses and now bank authorities are demanding their payments”, they complained.
