Renowned mountaineer Hassan Sadpara calls on the President of Pakistan at Aiwan-e-Sadar

Islamabad: President Mamnoon Hussain has appreciated the feats of Hassan Sadpara as a veteran mountaineer and earning the unique distinction of being the first Pakistani for successfully scaling six peaks above 8000 meters out of the fourteen highest peaks of the world. The President acknowledged and appreciated Hassan Sadpara’s utmost patriotism and devotion for the country especially his supreme zeal to fly Pakistan’s flag on the highest summits of the earth.

The President said this after veteran mountaineer Hassan Sadpara called on President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President noted that Hassan Sadpara is an icon and beacon for the adventurous youths of the country and advised Mr. Sadpara to keep on motivating the youths toward the most challenging and daring sports of mountaineering for exploring the nature’s endowments. The President especially recalled the mountaineering feat of Hassan Sadpara when the latter, on 12th May, 2011, climbed the highest peak of the world i.e. Mt. Everest.

The President assured the eminent mountaineer that the government would continue supporting him in his future endeavours. The President wished Mr. Sadpara success in his future plans to bring more laurels for the country which would further enhance Pakistan’s soft image in the comity of nations. The President commended the role of Northern Area community in promoting mountaineering and trekking as an industry both at domestic and international level despite security related issues. The President also appreciated the Alpine Club of Pakistan for playing a leading role in promotion of adventure tourism in Pakistan and assured of all possible support in this regard.
