Gilgit, December 22: A gender interest group has been formed to protest and promote the rights of women and mainstream gender in all sector of development in Gilgit-Baltistan.
This initiative was taken during a two days workshop on gender mainstreaming organized by Publishing Extension Network (PEN) in collaboration with the EELY project of Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP).
The workshop facilitators Ejaz Ahmed Khan and Ishtiyaq Ahmed Yaad discussed different themes related to gender mainstreaming.
The workshop participants formed a gender interest group during the concluding session of the workshop. The group passed a resolution, which called for an enhanced efforts to formulate required policies for mainstreaming gender in all sector of development in GB.
