Amphary Leprosy Centre renamed after Dr. Ruth Pfau

Gilgit: Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman has said that to remember the service of deceased Nun, Dr. Ruth Pfau, a leprosy center located in Amphary area of Gilgit will named after her.

Hafeez also said that the Dr. newly renamed Ruth Pfau Hospital will be upgraded to a 10-bed hospital.

He said that this rechristening of the center will help revitalize the services of Dr. Pfau, who dedicated her life to fight against leprosy in the country.

Dr. Pfau, born in Germany, shifted to Pakistan and continued helping lepers for several decades. She passed away in Karachi after remaining hospitalized for some time.
