Pregnant woman’s ordeal to reach DHQ Hospital, Skardu in 21 hours
SHIGAR: A 25 years old pregnant woman, tied on a stretcher with rope, was carried by family members and volunteers on their arms from Arandu area of Bhasha to Tisar and from here onward in a car to reach District Headquarter Hospital, Skardu. In minus temperature and snow bound tracks, it took almost 21 hours on foot to take the women from Arandu area of Bhasha to Tisar and then to Skardu on car.
Hospital source has said that her condition is now stable.
The approach roads were closed for last 15 days due to heavy snowfall. The upper valleys were lacking proper health facilities to deal emergencies
