Dr. Fozia Tahir completes PhD in Engineering from Oxford University
ISLAMABAD: Born in Khyber village of Gojal Valley, Hunza, Dr. Fozia Tahir recently completed her PhD in Engineering Sciences from the University of Oxford, UK.
“I was in the Sustainable Water Treatment group in Chemical Engineering Department. My PhD research was focused on wastewater treatment using forward osmosis and membrane distillation hybrid system in the lab”, she said, when contacted by Pamir Times.
“Prior to this I did my MS and BS in Environmental Sciences from NUST and FJWU, respectively.”
Work wise I have committed to KIU to join as an Assistant Professor soon, because I have always wanted to come back and serve before anything else in my career.”
“I have three publications so far; 1 from my masters and two from my PhD and two more papers have been submitted”, Fozia said while describing her research work.
“Overall, I am excited to come back and look forward to working towards a sustainable environment in Gilgit- Baltistan and hope that like minded people can join to create bigger impacts and also to improve the role of a local university in creating that change via impactful research and scholarship”.
