SAS cancels Eid Milan event to honour Rai Ghulam ud Din

Karachi, November 6: The Karachi based Students Aid Society (SAS) has decided to cancel its Eid Milan Programme, to honour the services of Rai Ghulam ud Din, who was buried in Gulmit yesterday.

At a special meeting called today the cabinet decided that in view of the sad demise of a great leader, it may not be appropriate to celebrate Eid with traditional festivity. The meeting also decided that a special event will be held in the near future  to highlight the services of Rai Ghulam ud Din and appreciate his leadership.

“We had been preparing to organize a traditional merit-citation cum musical and cultural programme on the Eid, but it does not seem appropriate anymore”, Izzat Ullah, President of the Society said in a press statement. “In accordance with our real cultural values, we have decided to cancel the programme”, he said.

SAS is a Karachi based organization of the students and professionals of Gulmit (Gojal) which has been rendering valuable services for the students community through micro-financing and other activities since 1992.
