N. Areas apex court without judges

gilgit, oct 28: the federal government has not finalised the panel for the appointment of the new chief judge and members of the northern area supreme appellate court (sac). the previous chief judge and two members of the court, who had been appointed on contract basis, completed their term a month ago. the federal ministry of kashmir affairs and northern area moved a summary to ap- point syed jaffar shah and yaqoob advocate but the northern area good governance order did not approve it. the situation has marred day- to-day legal proceedings and hit hard the people of area seeking justice. the sap of northern area is not able to deal with judi- cial affairs because of absence of the judges. political and social figures of the area has criticised the situation and expressed dismay over the lack of interest on the part of the concerned authori- ties. it is worth mentioning here that the kashmir division has moved another summary in which it has recommended that former two judges – altaf hussain and tahir ali shah – would continue along with a new chief
