Let’s discuss the political, economic, cultural and social aspects of life and living in Hunza during a period of relatively greater political awareness, the anti-Mir political movement and the resultant demise of the State of Hunza.
This discussion will enable us to understand the roles that different elements played during that phase of social change.
It is good to discuss on transformation of that effort, however I would suggest to discuss on one theme – per say Politics or economics – discussing all at once will take us into another non structured discussion resulting counter arguments rather than focused share of political history and or economic growth dimenssions…

Thank you for the suggestion.
However, in my opinion, it is impossible to disucss ‘politics’ in isolation; without considering economics, society and culture – including the culture of silence, resistence or indifference (to borrow terms of Paulo Freire).
Power play, politics, results from various social realities, like economic condition of the people, thir history of governance, level of awareness or social innovation (like attempting to find alternatives to existing governance and social structures), etc.
It is for this reaons that I emphasized on an inclusive deliberation on ‘aspects of life and living’ rather than exclusive discussion on power-play and governance (“politics”)!!
However, it is open to be changed, if PT readers and commentators want to change it.

ALAS !THESE SO CLLED EDUCATED PEOPLE BEFORE MAZERE QAUID WOULD THINK PRUDENTLY THAT
WE WERE A STATE TODAY WE ARE SUBDIVISIONS>. LOVE MY COUNTRY PAKISTAN MORE THAN MY LIFE BUT I ALSO LOVE MY HUNZA AS A HISTORICAL AUTONOMOUS STATE IN THE COUNTY.WE WERE A PROVINCE OF PAKISTAN AND WE MADE OURSELVES A SUBDIVISION.PITY ON OUR LEADERS WHO COULDNT SAVE OUR IDENTITY AND STATUS.I AM GRIEVED.

I fully agree with you ! my point is to take one theme as a center and take along other factors around it – Political economy, and or poltcial histroy – the rest is fine – i have fear that like polls dialgue was to some extent hijacked – neverthless – we should encourage such discussions and some writers should play a role of controlling debate and remain focused.
In addition, on such burnning issues, themes where there is consderablly good comments comes, then PT team should conclude with an eitorial note – so that PT will keep a track and archives of such discussions for future references… i know u and Zulfiqar are working as volunteers – i think now you guys should think of financial sustainability options for continuam of this great effort etc….we can discuss more options for….many thanks Nur and good luck
Pasting of such Picx will definitely creat ruts and gaps among the people of this vally- Hunza. No doubt merits and demerits comes togather, wise pesonality should try for the maximmum marits and try to lessen the demerits. Here it is required to be above the matters of like and dislike. However, both JALAL and Nur are right in their expressions.
According to JALAL at a time we should concentrate on a single matter, while Nur thinks that, that the matters are parall. I am of vthe openion that- ignoring one factor of the society will not be possible, but economy betterment is very essential. Without any doubt we take it the backbone of the people of the vally.The second priority as I do think is unity in social, cultural and other main bases.
The formost important is ti listen and bear one another and encourage the dialog system and heate from the individuals who are grinding and looking only their personal benefits and gains.
