Rustam Baig of Passu passes away
Hunza, March 16: Rustam Baig, a resident of Passu has passed away, on Sunday March 15, at the age of more than 90 years. He was the father of a renowned political activist Ghadir Shah, Rehmat Karim, Mehmood and Amir Ali (presently in USA).

Pup Rustam Baig ( late) was one of the key elders ( 90 plus years) of Passu village. I used to see him during my visits to the mountains. Althogh he did not had serious sickness but his family members used to give him extra care- which is most needed by elders.
He was one of the exceptional farmers, knew almost all the essentials of mountain farming systems and during his young age would volunteer always for community activitiesand provide support to those who were in need.
We offer our condolances to the family members and pray to Allah that his soul may rest in eternal peace.

For me it time that pass taking many to eternal peace to the place were only purity notes. We miss many, but live with us through their memories that they have left mixed with love and purity.
Dear PUP, was a simple man of his own world, witty in his words missed with stories, shaded with comic element. Was old but had a golden ever young heart. His was words was the ways and changes and the comfort had come. Meeting him was more then reading any historical book about the area and its events, his words were more composed then any painter’s brushes, presenting any detail in such an artistic manner taking the listener into the time of the topic.
He a child, among children, love, purity, cheerful and full of life, passionate with the youths, sharing youthful experiences and was a righteous book of knowledge and judgment to the elders.
