Islamabad: The Pakistan Army has recorded first success in its efforts to evacuate dead bodies of the soldiers who had been killed by an avalanche in the Gayari Sector of Siachina almost two months back. Sepoy Muhammad Hussain’s body is the first to be recovered so far. Hussain hailed from Skardu, according to media reports.
139 soldiers of the Pakistan Army’s NLI Regiment had been hit by a huge avalanche on mid night of 6th and 7th April. The evacuation of Muhammad Hussain’s body has triggered hope that the search and evacuation operations might be reaching to a conclusion.
