Our Correspondent

Gulmit, May 31: A three member delegation from the US Embassy in Islamabad visited Gulmit, the Tehsil Headquarters of Gojal Valley, upper Hunza. Members of the delegation met local people and inquired about the relief situation. They particularly asked about the relief items, high energy biscuits and chocolate, provided by USAID last year. They also visited the community based Al – Amyn Model School.

It is pertinent to note that USAID is financing construction of a girls hostel in Gulmit.

The delegation, comprising of the Counselor General, Economist and the embassy’s security staff, was accompanied by AIG Asghar and some other government officials.
