Governor assures PRCS of support

Islamabad, August 8: Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Pir Karam Ali Shah has said that the GB government would support Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS)’s provincial branch in Gilgit-Baltistan. He promised to support PRCS’ efforts to acquire land for construction of warehouses. He also said that the human resources of PRCS would be strengthened, based on President’s Zaardari’s directives.

He was speaking to a PRCS GB’s Chairman Asif Hussain here in governor camp office on Monday. He said that PRCS has played an active role in reaching out to the vulnerable communities of GB with relief and rehabilitation programmes during the Attaabad landslide, monsoon floods and other disasters at regional level in a very short period of time.

Chairman PRCS GB Asif Hussain on the occasion briefed the governor about the achievements made by PRCS and its overall performance. He thanked President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Governor GB for assuring of providing support to PRCS GB.
