Gilgit, October 19: A large number of couple tied the knot at a mass marriage ceremony held at Shah Karim Hostel, located in Konodas area of Gilgit city. The mass marriage was arranged by Aga Khan Social Welfare Board for the Gilgit region.

Wazir Baig, Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly was the guest of honour at the mass marriage.

He distributed gifts among the couples along with Col (r) Ubaidullah Baig, President of the Ismaili Council for Gilgit.

The AKSWB has been organizing mass marriages at the community level for several years, enabling families to manage low-budget marriages, while also promoting simplicity and the concept of saving money for education, health and other important life investments.

A large number of people, including families of the newly married couples, participated in the ceremony.
