Pictorial – Shishkat Village of Gojal after the Snowfall

Shishkat is one of the largest villages of the Gojal Valley, located in upper Hunza. The village is roughly home to around 400 households. It was affected immensely due to the water surge caused by the damming of the Hunza River as a result of the Attabad landslide disaster, four years ago. One part of Shishkat, known as Ayeenabad, was completely destroyed by the dammed river.

A volunteer of Pamir Times visited the disaster hit Shishkat village recently and took these photographs, while the village was under snow.
