Pir Karam Ali Shah calls on President Mamnoon Hussain

GOVERNOR GILGIT-BALTISTAN, PIR KARAM ALI SHAH CALLED ON PRESIDENT MAMNOON HUSSAIN AT THE AIWAN-E-SADR, ISLAMABAD ON JANUARY 27, 2014.

Islamabad, Jan 27: Governor Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Pir Karam Ali Shah on Monday called on President Mamnoon Hussain to discuss numerous regional issues, including the proposed road to Tajikistan via. Ishkoman valley, the Pir’s ancestral region. Law and order situation, slow pace of development in the region and the lack of financial resources came under discussion.

President Mamnoon said that Gilgit-Baltistan is has immense potential for growth and the region’s resources should be used for regional and national development. He also said that there plans to convert the blocked Hunza River into a dam.
