Astore: Five children have died in Qamri Valley due to cold and fever

Islamabad, March 31: Death of five children aged 10-12 are being reported from the Qamri Valley of Astore District, Gilgit-Baltistan. Qamri is a remote valley located the Line of Control.

Gilgit based journalist, Tanveer Ahmad, has reported the death of the children on Twitter, a social networking site. He has also said that dozens of more children are facing medical issues due to unavailability of medicines and doctors in the remote valley which is currently in snow and difficult to reach during the winters.
The death of three children has, reportedly, been confirmed a government official on conditions of anonymity.
Tanveer has also reported that two children are under treatment at a field hospital in the Astore valley.
