Pictorial – Realignment of the Karakuram Highway in Gojal Valley

Gojal Valley, May 5: Work on the realignment of the Karakuram Highway is underway in the Gojal Valley, Upper Hunza. China Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) is constructing tunnels and bridges in the region as an alternate to the Karakuram Highway which had been caused to submerge due to blockade of the Hunza River, as a result of the Attabad Landslide disaster.

Our senior team member Asghar Khan has recently visited the region and taken these photographs which show the progress on the reconstruction work. On completion, the road will enable the residents of Gojal Valley and businessmen.
