Shaista Madad from Yasin Valley, Ghizer, gets admission at Cambridge University
Islamabad: Shaista Madad, hailing from Yasin Valley of Ghizer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, has made us proud by qualifying for admission at the University of Cambridge. She has qualified to obtain an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences.
Shaista Madad, daughter of renowned educationist Jan Madad, has also qualified for Cambridge University’s prestigious “800 Anniversary Scholarship”, which covers 10 percent of the tuition fee and all other expenses.
She was a student of Beaconhouse Margalla Campus, Islamabad.
In a press statement the Beaconhouse has described Shaista as, “actively engaged in the educational development of her community”.
“Her course at Cambridge will help her in contributing towards the educational development of her region by addressing issues in early childhood development and care. She hopes to become an example for other girls from her region, offering hope that with hard work and unwavering perseverance any dream can come true.”
