Senate Committee asks govt to establish board of education in Gilgit-Baltistan
Islamabad: Senator Afrasiab Khattak has said that on his suggestion the Senate’s Standing Committee on Higher Education has asked the government to establish a separate SSC and HSSC board in Gilgit-Baltistan.
It is pertinent to note that at the moment the exams of schools and colleges under the provincial government are being taken by the Karakuram International University Examination Board while schools and colleges are following syllabus developed by the Punjab Textbook Board and the Islamabad Textbook Board.
Students and teachers have been demanding establishment of a separate education, examination, for the region.
The schools in Gilgit-Baltistan have been following the curriculum developed by the Punjab Text Boook Board.
He made the revelation in a message posted on social networking site, Twitter.
On my suggestion Senate’s Comm on H Education today asked the govt to establish a separate Board of Higher & Secondary Education in GB.
