HEDI launches Social Entrepreneurship project in Gilgit

 Gilgit, September 2014: The launching ceremony took place at the premises of HEDI which was attended by over 100 young male and female students of HEDI and other institutions in Gilgit. A good number of professionals and media representatives were also present at the event.

The Chairman HEDI, Mr. Sultan Ahmed gave a brief about the project entitled Youth Social Entrepreneurship, a joint venture support of YES Network Pakistan and HEDI with the financial support of USAID. He explained the idea of engaging the youth in various innovative social enterprises while bringing innovative solutions to emerging social issues. He urged the youth to be part of the project and ring their innovative ideas to fruition. He said that through this project, HEDI will organize sessions for around 300 youngsters and will orient them to the concept of social enterprise with focus on youth. He said that the participants will also be encouraged to come with different social enterprises and the best ones will be supported. He said that potential entrepreneurs will be linked to resource organizations nationally and internationally.

Before his specch Ms. Fakhra gave welcome speech and Ms. Musarrat Shaheen gave a brief about HEDI, a Gilgit based institutions established in 2012.

 The participants of this event termed it a very interesting and potential project and showed their commitment to be part of the project and bring pragmatic solutions to the merging social issues while establishing innovative and sustainable projects in the future.

HEDI is a timely call in response to the emerging needs of individuals, organizations and enterprises in terms of quality services in youth engagement, corporate marketing, skill enhancement, human, institutional and enterprise development.
