Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan to be the next Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan
Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has decided to appoint Mir Ghazanfar Ali as the new governor of Gilgit-Baltistan. He will replace Chaudhary Barjees Tahir, the federal minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltitan affairs. The decision will be ratified by the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain in due course of time.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has decided to appoint Mir Ghazanfar of Hunza as Governer of Gilgit Baltistan.

The Governor, according to the constitution, can discharge his duties as representative of the state at the pleasure of the President of Pakistan.
After Mir Ghzanfar’s appointment as Governor Gilgit-Baltistan he will have to resign as member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly. Hunza, his native constituency, will go to polls again to elect a new representative, after Mir Ghazanfar takes oath as Governor.
