Scholars urge Muslims to follow ‘humanistic aspects of Islamic teachings’ at conference organized by ITREB


LAHORE: (PR) His Highness Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council and ITREB for Central Region organized a Seerat-un -Nabi (PBUH) conference on Sunday April 21, 2019 at PC Hotel Lahore. Mr. Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan, Provincial Minister of Punjab for Auqaf and Religious Affairs graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. Hassan Amir Shah, SI, Vice Chancellor GC University as Guest of Honor.

The purpose of this conference was to promote peace, tolerance and religious harmony, acquiring inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Mr. Aziz Kabani, Honorary Secretary ITREB for Pakistan, Tariq Mehmood Sheikh, President His Highness Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Central Region, Amir Ali Sher Ali Chairman ITREB for Central Region and renowned religious scholar Dr Khalid Zaheer, Syed Saqib Akber and Karim Aman addressed the conference.

Scholars highlighted the spiritual and ethical dimensions of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and urged to promote humanistic and moral aspects of Islamic teachings. They also emphasized the importance of establishing a pluralistic society by regarding and accepting diversity in human societies in general and Muslim Ummah in particular. Scholars also highlighted the importance and understanding of the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the modern times.




A large number of participants from all walks of life (including parliamentarians, scholars, businessmen and public servants) participated in the conference and appreciated the step taken by the ITREB to promote religious harmony.
