Degree college inaugurated in Drosh Valley, Chitral

Chitral, May 20: The first degree college of Drosh Valley was inaugurated today in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of Sarhad Rural Support Program Shahzada Masoodul Mulk. Also present at the occasion were Professor Masood Ahmad Principal Govt Degree College Chitral and Professor Naqeebullah Razi of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Chitral campus.
Addressing on the occasion Deans of Hira Model School and College, former SDO Education Haji Abdullah said that there was no inter level college for girls and neither any degree college for boys in Drosh area consisting of 75000 population. He said that after retirement from education department he established a degree college both for girls and boys in a rented building in 2005. Since its creation some 519 male and female students have been qualified their Degree and post graduate level education from this college.
129 students completed B.ED including 57 female students, 30 students including 14 female students successfully qualified their M.Ed (master of Education) here. At present some 613 students are reading here from class 1 to post graduate level. As well as 57 deserving male and female students getting their education free of cost without any fee. He said that college shifted this year to its own building and will continue educating students of this neglected area. There is only a girl’s high school at Drosh and a higher secondary school for boys but no college for boys or girls.
Students of the college presented different colorful event and performed on Allama Iqbal praying poetry with a very sophisticated way and enthralled participants. Shahzada Masoodul Mulk announced 50000 for college administration and assured to support such deserving institutions.
The speakers highly hailed efforts of college principal and staff for rendering quality education to students most of them topped university of Peshawar and qualified their medical, engineering and some students joined Pakistan Army as commissioned officer. They paid rich tribute to Haji Abdullah and teaching staff for their efforts.
A large number of people participated the inauguration ceremony of new building of the college.
