Thousands pay homage to Benazir in N. Areas
GILGIT, Dec 27: Thousands of people, including activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other political groupings in major towns of the Northern Areas remembered former prime minister Benazir Bhutto on her first death anniversary on Saturday.
They renewed the pledge to fulfil the slain leader’s missions, i.e. to strive for strengthening democracy in the country.
Glowing tributes were paid to Ms Bhutto in condolence references, Quran Khawani, talk shows and declamation contests arranged at district level.
In the condolence references, speakers said Ms Bhutto gave her life for democracy and freedom.
Two-minute silence was observed during all functions at 5:20pm, the time the PPP chairperson was killed in a suicide attack outside Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi. Courtesy Dawn

Shaheed Benazir Bhutoo was an extraordinary and gallant leader with a charisma that inspired the masses aithin Pakistan and abroad. She taught the nation how to fight dictatorship. She proved to be a catalyst in the democratic process that was initiated by her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and that had resulted in the death of her father in the hands of the notorious dictator General Zia Ul Haq.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was an icon of democracyand a ray of hope for the poor in a state hit by chaos, extremism, anarchy and dictatorship. She was a threat to the usurpers and political elites in the establishment of Mr. Musharraf, extremists within the army and intelligence agency, policies of the irresponsible powerful states towards Pakistan and dictator General Musharraf who facilitated dependency of Pakistan on the irresponsible super power state without formulating exit strategies from such dependencies, but for himself. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto left behind a legacy that will always be rememberd. May her soul rest in peace. Aamin

Malang Jon,, you have raised really good questions,,
Obviously it is difficult for him to disclose his own name. Just imagine, if BB (Our greatest leader) was alive today, what would ve be the position of Zardari?

Dear Readers of PT,
It is pretty astounding to note that Pakistan has no room for the exceptional nervous people who are abrogated at the cost of nothing.
ShaheedZulfiqar Ali Bhutto was a visionary leader who had emerged to safeguard the rights of the poor and ignorent but the cruel social evils didn’t support his mission and put his life to an end. The same wasvery much evident a year back when his daughter Benazir was assasinated. She was much optimistic about the fate of this nation but again the same bad practices and habits didn’t let her work for the prosperity of the country where anarchy is prevailing and the concept of self respect and self esteem has deminished.
We have lost very precious leaders and the so called leaders would ruin the state one day if the same blind practices persist.
I salute the very honourable leader late Benazir for her bravery and sacrifice.
May her soul rest in eternal peace(Ameen)
Regards
Aslam Ghalib
Well no doubt BB was a great leader for the people of Pakistan and particularly for the party which we all feel and observe by the “Leadership vacuum” her intolerable death has caused. Her contributions for the country and for democracy are indeed uncountable and will always be remembered and I do hope that other political leaders would learn from her leadership qualities and abilities.
Junaid your question if BB (Our greatest leader) was alive today, what would ve be the position of Zardari?
i think the same as it was before 10%(may be a bit more this time) now its 100%
Good bless her soul and grant us another true leader like her who could lead the poor people of Pakistan towards a better and enlightened tomorrow.

a smilar type of report (prepared for Pervaiz Musharaf”s contribution for the people of northern ares) would be useful to share with the readers highlighting BB’s contribution, development initiatives and achievements for the politically deprived people of Northern Pakistn when she was two times in power ( i am not talking about the party because we all know what her late father Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali has done for the people)..
cheers
