Importers, Exporters, Agents and Transporters on strike in Sost

Sost, August 16: The Sost Dry Port remained closed due to a general strike called by importers, exporters, clearing agents and transporters. The strike has been called to press the authorities to reduce import duties on various items, to decrease collection of tax in the region and to demand relaxation in checking up of goods being imported in the country.

The strike started today and, according to reports is likely to continue for an indefinite period, till resolution of the issues being faced by traders and trade related people. In the meanwhile due to closure of the Dry Port over twenty loaded containers are waiting in queues for being cleared.
