Social Welfare and Human Rights Dept. Gilgit-Baltistan launches Suicide Prevention Helpline
GILGIT: In view of the increasing rate of suicides in Gilgit-Baltistan, the regional Social Welfare and Human Rights Department has launched a telephonic helpline service.
According to information shared by an official, the helpline will serve women, children and other survivors and victims of domestic abuse and sex abuse. Counselors will provide services to the individuals who want to share their problems.
The helpline numbers are, 05811-920453 and 05811-922604.
It is not clear if the services will be available round-the-clock. Details about the number of counselors, their qualification and experience could also not been be obtained despite attempts.
