  4. Shimshal Baymisal was first time used by the renowned travel writter Mustanser Hussain Tarrar. His book entitled “Shimshal Baymisal” become famous among the readers.
    Shimshal has geographic,cultural and economic identity. It links Gilgit with China. The largest valley by area in Gilgit District. Its mighty mounatins, beautiful icy peaks, gigantic glaciers,amzing passes,fertile land, rich cultural heritage are the main fasination for outsiders.
    The history of Shimshal is about five hundred years old.Some people call it ‘The valley of Mountaineers’. Shimshalis are to Pakistan as Sherpas are to Nepal,more than twenty well known mounatineers belong to this valley.

    The fact behind sharing the above pictures with readers is to give them an insight about Shimshal.
    I think Noor and entire team of Pamir Times are doing an excellent service. We have to encourage and support them. It is what the need of hour.
