    Looking back, the last 24 months of PT has transformed the way we, the mountain people, used to access local information, how we used to communicate with each other, how we confronted each other intellectually and how we used to learn from each other.

    You, the PT volunteers, were able to use the new ICT effectively to voice our concerns, empowered the people and largely contributed to making and shaping peoples opinions on issues of local and regional concern be it political, social, economic, culture or environmental.

    The journey continues. There are enormous opportunities and challenges ahead. First and foremost is to look for convergence of media; internet, mobile and SMS text messaging; second is use of cable networks and FM radio and third is making these technologies and its application accessible and affordable to broader users in the villages.

    You, the young volunteers are the torch bearers of the new economy. You have the ideas, energy, zeal and motivation to innovate and make change.

    Wishing you a very happy and engaging year.

PT has successfully connected people of Gilgit-Baltistan where ever they are living with innovative utilization of modern tools of communication and education.
