Completion of bridges in Gilgit sought
Gilgit, Nov 3: Northern Areas Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad on Monday inspected the three under-construction RCC bridges that link parts of Gilgit district as well as China at different points.Mr Babar, who was accompanied by other government functionaries, visited the sites and expressed his displeasure at the unwarranted delay in the completion of the bridges.
He said the government was committed to providing civic amenities to the residents, add ing that such delays were intolerable.
Officials, who went to the site with the chief secretary, said the Northern Areas Public Works Department was directed to expedite the pace of work. They also briefed Mr Babar on the project.
The chief secretary took special interest in the RCC bridge between Gilgit city and Konodas, and came down hard on the MSA Company, asking its managing director Imad Saddiqui to complete the work as soon as possible. He instructed the PWD au thorities to keep track of the performance.
