Schedule of spring blossom festival 2009 announced

Gilgit, May 11: According to an announcement by the Directorate of Tourism, Environment, Sports & Culture Department Gilgit-Baltistan, schedule of the Spring Blossom Festival, to be organized from 16th April – 16th May 2009 has been announced.
The highlights of the month long festival, aimed at attracting tourists from within and outside Pakistan, are as under: Trout Fish 
competition on 16th April at Khalti Lake, Opening of Picnic Spot and Cultural Night at Gakuch on April 17th, Meena Bazaar Gilgit on April 17th, Sports Gala from April 21 – 26 Diamer and Gilgit Jashe-e-Ghanche from April 05 – 10 at Ghanche, Baltoro Diamond Jubilee Celebrations from April 2 – 4 at Skardu and Spring Polo Tournament from May 10 – 15, 2009. According to reports a team from Chipursan valley of Hunza-Gojal is also expected to participate in the tournament.
