Islamabad – Highlanders Football Club defeated Yasin United, 2-0, in the final match of the Eagle Wings Football Tournament played today in Islamabad.

Organized by Eagle Wings Football Club and supported by Gilgit-Baltistan Volunteers Movement (GBVM), the tournament had started one week ago and 18 teams from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral participated in it.

The tournament’s objective was to pay tributes to the martyrs of Giyari avalanche disaster and promote peace and harmony in the region by allowing the youth to come together and compete in a healthy manner, an organizer told Pamir Times.

Abdul Jahan, Director of MIED, was chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony; accompanied by Raja Nazeem ul Amin, CEO of Gold Roof (Pvt) Ltd.
