Hunza-Nagar district next month, promises Syed Mehdi Shah of PPP

by Zulfiqar Ali Khan

HUNZA, June 23: A new district in Gilgit-Baltistan would start functioning officially from next month.

“The Hunza-Nagar district will be operational in July,” said Syed Mehdi Shah, president Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Gilgit-Baltistan during a visit.

Mr Shah said that the present government was serious in giving basic rights to the people of the region following the footsteps of Z.A. Bhutto “who gave political awareness to the marginalised people of Gilgit-Baltistan, and introduced fundamental socio-economic reforms in the region”.

He said additional Northern Areas Legislative Council Assembly (NALA) seat for Hunza would be part of a new package for the region. More at Source

  1. Good and quike decision to make a new district… congratulations to the people of Hunza/Nagir

  2. Ofcourse a good news for some limited areas but not a good news for Gojal tehsil, the longest scaterd tehsil in Hunza. Gojal tehsil should be a separate electoral Halqa not be attach with any other part of Hunza tehsil, I m little prejuicing here but this the reality. Gojalis should be given the chance to choose there own representative for the NALA . Otherwiose demonstrations will take place if ignored and it will be hard for the local administration to control the mayhm.

  3. KEEP ON MOVING, KEEP ON ROCKING, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, LATE BUT NOT VERY LATE, THOUGH TIME PASESE IN VERY FAST PHASE, HOPE THE NEW TEHSIL FOR NAGAR HUNZA WILL BRING SOME GOOD CHANGE TO THE NALA, WHICH IS STILL A DUMMY POSITION RAISED FROM THE GOVT OF PAKISTAN, COMMON GUYS WE ARE NOW EDUCATED AND THE PLACE ITSELF GIVES MEANING TO THE WORLD, WE THE HUNZA/NAGAR DO REPRESENT OUR CUTLURE LANGUAGE AND RELIGION BUT STILL ITS A LONG WAY PROCESS TO ACHEAVE OUR GOALS, HOW FAR CAN GOVT OF PAKISTAN KEEP US OUT OF OUR RIGHTS, WE NEED OUR BASICK RIGHTS, WE WANT A CIVIC SOCIETY, WE WANT TO BE INDEPENDENT ,WE DONT WANT TO BE A BURDEN ON THE GOVT, BUT WE ARE CIVILIZED SOCIETY BEARNING IN MIND THAT HUNZA BEING THE HIGHLY RATES SOCIETY IN ALL OF PAKSITAN IS ONE OF THE BEST SOCIETY AND WE HAVE CIVIC SOCIETY BUT WE LACK THE GOVT INTITIATEVE IN THIS REGION, COMMON FOR GOD SACK HOW FAR YOU ARE GOING TO NEGLECT THE PEOPLE OF THIS REGIONS, ENOUGH IS THE WORD FOR ENOUGH,,,,, OPEN YOUR EYES,…………….. LONG LIVE PAKISTAN,

  7. Dear ALL
There should be a spate seat for Gojal only Gojal, which starts form Shishkat to Chipurson and Misghar. We do not want and addition of Altit and Baltit.

  8. When we read the times gone by the developed countries we finds it that after their necessities there secondary hallucination is regular education, and the procedures of ahead of education. Their culture, faith, and other social issues are also of this sort, but most important is their education, and the techniques of learning that significantly effect the learners. Unfortunately there is too feeble system of education in our Northern Areas and, even there is no any clear syllabus for SSC and HSSC certificates due to more than eighty percent of students inclined to leave the great aspire of life. Its being to seeing that our aware leaders especially from Gilgit telling on media that we have advance and superior education system than that of Punjab. At that time we felt deception for a moment, even the anchor wondered too that what he is telling. I desires to ask from our leaders that how many institutions or schools they have in the rural areas except AKESP even in Central Hunza, Nagar.
