Animation movie “SHREK” dubbed in Wakhi language, renamed “Babirzung”

Karachi, September 20: Persistent hardwork of ten months, by a group of self motivated youngsters from Gojal valley, bears fruit as the first ever Wakhi dubbed animation movie, BABIRZUNG, is presented to the viewers, for pure family entertainment.
BABIRZUNG is being released on the day of Eid – ul – Fitr, in Islamabad. It has been termed as a wonderful Eidie for the Wakhi speaking community of Central and South Asia. While at one hand it manifests the digital boldness and creativity of the youth, on the other hand it heralds a new era of innovation, experimentation and progress for Wakhi language, art and literature.
The characters having prominent roles in the movie inlcude Muhammad Zia, Sher Khan, Sultan Uddin,Shahid Ullah Baig,Aman Karim, Piyar Karim and Tahir Zaman, among several others.
It is pertinent to note here that the same movie has earlier been dubbed in Burushaski language also. While terming the dubbing a giant first step, it is also important to understand that in the future there are ample opportunities for inexpensive, yet complete, innovation on these lines.
The movie shall be a wake up call for leaders of organizations that cliam to be working for progress of our language and art, while wasting millions in temporary pomps and shows. It is a sad state of affairs that while the young people are selflessly working on concrete grounds, in revolutionary directions, the figure head elders are not ready to give up their hegemonic control over the relevant organizations.
If these young people can attain so much on their own, with proper support mechanisms they will revolutionize the idea of indigenous digital cultural production in the times to come.

I happened to see a short clip of its, sounds interesting…your hard work is being appriciated… hope that you will concentrate on the positive side of this venture… selection of proper wakhi words and minimizing the use of Urdu word can add to its quality…

“Dubbed in wakhi” sound to me interesting when i heard it first time through my friend . But i have just gone through its on detail on pamir time and come to know the team who has put all their effort in making it possible .
though i have not watched it yet but i am sure it must be interseting .I realy appreciate the effort of the team, who has made such creation .
If i wish to buy it , Is it possible to get it through courier in karachi.

Though this is the first work done so far and we all need to appreciate it, but I wish it was not shrek but something else. I am criticizing it because it seems like we don’t have other movies to dub and we are following our burushaski brothers as they were the one to dub it first in burushaski.
Bring something new first then shrek and others.

Dear Zia,Sher Khan and team,
This is indeed a great effort towards the promotion of our language.I am well in picture about the efforts which were made towards the completion of this constructive work.
This kind of work is perhaps for the first time carried on to promote the sense of constructivism and to add towards the preservation of our language which is endangered in this era of globalization where people are afraid of loosing their identity and such things have been witnessed at large.
We can use various tools to preserve and promote of language and identity.
I hope that like Zia,Sher Khan and his team, guys will come up with innovations to give a big surpize to all those who are trying to dominate us by any means.
