GB to have local governor: Zardari

Islamabad, December 24: According to APP president Zardari has assured Syed Mehdi Shah that the governor of Gilgit – Baltistan would be a local person. President Zardari, reportedly, said this during a meeting with the chief minister last night.
Soon after the meeting some TV channel reports said that Sher Jahan Mir, former GM of Karakuram Cooperative Bank, is all set to take the oath of governorship.
This news led to ‘jubilation’ in Gilgit city, as supporters of Mir resorted to heavy aerial firing to celebrate the news.
In a separate press statement, however, Syed Mehdi Shah has said that names for governorship would be sent to President Zardari after Ashura.

most of the people of Gilgit Baltistan were happy to get the status of a Province for Gilgit Baltistan and election of the representatives, the Chief Minister and cabinet was also welcomed. today when i was reading the daily Jung Rawalpindi i saw the news about appointment of the First Governor in consultation with our new Chief Minister Mr. Syed Mehdi Shah, his name is Sher Jan Mir from Jaglot an unknown person, according to the pepper he has worked as the Manager of the Northern Area’s Cooperative Bank and basically belongs to Kashmir and lives in the Northern Area for the Last 40 years
i want to understand that if a person from Gilgit Baltistan living in Muzafarabad for 50 year will be acceptable to the Kashmiries as president of the Azad Kashmir, i wish the people should wake up and open their eyes to strive for their rights, and come out of the caves. i am sure the Government of Pakistan can not impose a non Local Person on the people of Gilgit Baltistan as Governor
may i request the people of Gilgit Baltistan to rise their voice to get a son of Gilgit Baltistan as their Governor

Governer should be a person acceptable to all sects and communities of GB, I think there are many other equally qualified capable and neutral personalities, for instance Mr. Zafar Iqbal MD NATCO, I think he is the most approperiate one.

I humbly request to the GBLA representatives and GB peoples and Government of Pakistan they should select any anther educated, well now and social persons how have a best quality of Governance.

No Kashmiri is acceptable to the people of Gilgit Baltistan neither are any corrupt local bureaucrat. We have seen the ugly faces of these bureaucrats who are consumed just manage their jobs by providing special services to the “baboos” of KANA and bribing others in ISB for their promotions over the years. How can anyone suggest names of those little people who have been plundering our resources for decades!!
We have hundreds of deserving people with sound backgrounds from GB who are able to take on this job of Governor and are acceptable to the majority people across our northern belt.
No Kashmiri is acceptable to the people of Gilgit Baltistan neither are any corrupt local bureaucrats. this is for all to remember before to criticize or comment about such high profile persone the persident of pakistan should realize their position,cariteria don,t copy those who are national leader thay have millions of workers sporters with them can only may dear to compate or criticize mr zardari the rest should take care otherwise they will be in trouble soon this is zardari who with out demading gave gilgit baltistan the satus of a province chief minister, governor,self empowerment which proved first time that Gilgit baltistan is not a part of kashmir and the reaction of kashmiri leader are witness of this great achievement mr zardari has sacrifised a lot for democracy and reached in presidency no one like you people can even think to sacrifize only so take care to comment as far as the issue of governor is conceren mr nazir sabir is the most capable persone for this job and it will be done thne same until unless the ppp led gov.is going to write a knew history to oppoint female governor but it is yet to decide
