Chilas: Murderer of wife condemned to death

Chilas, March 8: Additional Session Judge of Diamer District, Mumtaz Ahmed, in his verdict in a case of honour killing has condemned Sher Afzal, the man who murdered his wife, to death. The condemned man has also been ordered to pay 100,000 rupees in penalty.

The culprit had executed his wife one year ago in a case of honour killing.

It is pertinent to note that several suspicious incidents of “death” and “suicide” of women are reported across the region, many of which are thought to be cases of honour killing. Public circles have appreciated the Judge for dispensing justice on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
