Police official among 3 held on charges of “gang rape”

Gilgit, March 17: Police have arrested three people, including a police official, on charges of subjecting two sisters (16 and 14 years old) to alleged gang rape. The arrests were made after the two sister filed an application with the police, claiming that they had been arrested and subjected to gang rape by five people, including a police official. The police reacted swiftly and arrested three out of the five accused. Their car, GZR  312, was also taken into custody.

According to details the two sisters had “gone missing” from their home located in Dayeen area of Chatorkhand (Ishkoman). Police sources have confirmed that an application had been filed with them for recovery of two girls who had reportedly “gone missing” on March 12. Some sources have said that the girls had allegedly “run away” from their homes along with two men.

The girls have told the police that they were kept at Gilgit, Jaglote, Rawalpindi and then brought back to Gilgit. During this period they were “subjected to gang rape”, the girls have reportedly told the police.

On instruction of a Session Court, the police have registered a case under Section 376 of the PPC and taken the three accused into remand for further investigation. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other two accused.

  1. I read with horror and disbelief the tragic story of two minor girls who taken out of their small village Daeen in Ghizar district and subjected to such an inhuman and barbaric behavior. Let us all of us work together and help these minor girls get justice. Let us ask our police in authority how they can help the court of law to give exemplary punishment to culprits particularly the police official who was involved in this crime and brought a bad name to police force.

  2. What a heinous crime committed by the protector of life, property and honour! What kind of people are we! Don’t we have sisters and mothers. what a humiliation and shame committed by the culprits. We strongly condemn the barbaric crime committed against the two sisters. We hope the law will take its course strongly without being influenced by others and give severe punishment to the criminals.

  3. i can’t even think what these two girls might have gone through, my hearts goes to these two innocent girls and their families, let’s all of us be with them and condemn this brutal crime and make sure justice is being served…it is so sad
