Astore: Mother and new born child die “due to negligence”

Astore: A mother and her child lost their lives at District Headquarters Hospital, Astore, allegedly due to “negligence” of the staff and unavailability of doctor.

According to reports, a pregnant woman named Qmarina Begum hailing from Minimarg area was brought to the District Headquarters Hospital, where she delivered a child. Her condition reportedly deteriorated after the delivery. The Nurse present at the moment could not handle the case and called for a doctor who apparently refused to come saying he had no “conveyance”. After suffering for some time the mother and her new born child were dead.

Heirs of the deceased have staged a protest demonstration in front of the hospital and demanded of the chief judge for taking notice of the situation and giving justice to the bereaved family.
