Diamir district administration gets 3.5bn for land acquisition

GILGIT: The government of Gilgit-Baltistan received an amount of Rs3.5 billion which would be disbursed on land acquisition for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner of Diamer, Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti, here on Wednesday. He said that the amount had been transferred to the accounts of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and soon the amount would be transferred to the accounts of the district magistrate. The official said that once the amount was transferred, the papers for payment shall be completed and within 45 days payment shall be made.
