It is pertinent to note that every year thousands of tourist from mainland China visit the Khujerav border area, but due to absence of protocols and agreement they are unable to come to Gilgit-Baltistan, a region within Pakistan having immense tourism potential. Similarly, Pakistani and tourists willing to visit China are unable to make it through the border easily, which hampers tourism and, in turn, the potential of economic growth.
