Islamabad, November 27: Traffic on the Karakuram Highway will resume after two weeks of closure, said an official source.

The Karakuram Highway had been closed due to security threats in the wake of the Rawalpindi Carnage in which 11 people were killed and scores had been injured.

The traffic is being resumed after security assurances provided by the KP and GB government.

Thousands of people had been stranded in different towns of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpnidi due to prolonged closure of the highway. There were also reports of unavailability of different commodities in the GB markets.
