100 kg wheat to be sold at 1100 rupees in Gilgit-Baltistan, notification issued

Islamabad, April 28: The Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved the fixation of the price of 100 kilogram wheat at 1100 rupees.
This was announced by the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chaudhary Barjees Tahir, at a press conference held in the federal capital. He said that the federal government will provide slightly more than 6 billion rupees in subsidy every year to keep the price of wheat at the fixed level.
He appreciated the role of Awami Action Committee for nurturing harmony among different sects in the region. He also said that the federal government is committed to develop the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
GB Chief Minister, Federal Secretary Shahidullah Baig, PMLN Chief Organizer Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, members of the government and the AAC negotiation committee were also present at the press conference.
Speaking at the occasion, Mehdi Shah said that he enjoys cordial relations with the federal government and that they will strive for development of the region.
