Dr. M Asif Khan appointed new VC of Karakoram Int’l University

Gilgit, June 9: Vice Chancellor of the Karakoram International University Gilgit-Baltistan . Dr. Najma Najam has been replaced by Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan on Monday.
According to details provided by the Public Relations Office KIU, Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan was among the three candidates interviewed by the President of Pakistan, Chancellor of KIU. Presidnet Mamnoon Hussain has approved the appointment of Dr.Muhammad Asif Khan as new Vice Chancellor KIU for a period of four years. The other candidates interviewed for the position were Dr. Ghulam Raza and Dr. Iftikhar.
“I can confirm that a notification cissued by the Presidency regarding the appointment of Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan as the new Vice Chancellor of KIU has been received”, said Shahid Ali, Registrar KIU while talking to Pamir Times. He said the new VC, Dr. Asif, is expected to takeover the charge of KIU from Dr. Najma Najm within a few days.
According to a CV obtained by Pamir Times, Dr. Asif has done his D.I.C & PhD from Imperial College London in 1988, B.Sc (Hons) & MSc Geology from University of Peshawar in 1980 and Post-Doctoral Fellowship & Visiting Professorship in Geosciences from University of Texas, Dallas, USA in 1993-94 under a Fulbright program.
He is the author of more than 200 research publications. His research publications include Seismotectonics Studies for Bonji Hydropower Project, Review of Seismotectonic Hazard Analysis of Diamar Basha Dam Project as well as Debris Flow Hazards in Chitral, Ghizer and Gilgit districts.
He has been awarded with the highest civil award of Pakistan (Tamga i Imtiaz) by the government of Pakistan in 2000.

and accountability would be ensured at any cost.

politics.

Clear targets would be set with all heads and
supervisors and service delivery to public would be ensured by all sections.

Transparent mentoring and monitoring system
would be in placed and internal as well as external auditing system would be strengthen
until and unless the institutionalize the all systems as well.

You would never compromise and spare to corrupt
elements irrespective of any affiliation.
6.
You would discourage the faith base organizations
in institution and lead to all stakeholders to create conducive environment in university.
7.
You would do focus the following 3 Ms to develop
the institution at greater standard level: 1. Men 2. Money 3. Machinery. All
these three pillars can ensure the sustainability of any institution.

You would
fully empowered the staff and develop an ideal team to boost the educational activities in GB.
