Two brothers from Skardu shot dead in Karachi

Karachi, June 9: Gunmen have killed two brothers hailing from Skardu district in a brazen act of terrorism in Karachi, Pakistan’s coastal city and commercial hub.

According to details, Bashir and Nazir, two brothers who had moved to Karachi from Skardu, were going to work early in the morning on a bike when they were fired at and killed by unidentified gunmen. The two brothers had been living in Karachi for more than a decade to get education and earn livelihood.

It is pertinent to note that on Sunday another young man from Gilgit had been shot dead in the Malir area of Karachi.

Over the last several years, dozens of people belonging to various parts of Gilgit-Baltistan have fallen prey to the violence in Karachi.

It is believed that more than a hundred thousand professionals, labourers, students and youth from Gilgit-Baltistan are living in different parts of Karachi. Hundreds of families have settled in Karachi permanently.
