Giglit, July 1: The people of Gilgit-Baltistan may no more yearn to visit Murree to enjoy the chairlifts rides.

Naltar Resort, in our backyard, is almost ready to host the chairlift tourists. Work on the project was inaugurated by Air Marshal Farhat Hussain last year on the 3rd day of May and it is likely to be completed by the end of August, according to some source.

According to details shared by the Chief Secretary during the inauguration, the ambitious chairlift project will be supported by 16 pillars and it will be almost 8 kilometers long. The highest point of the chairlift will be around 3453 meters high, while the base will be at 2889 meters. The total rise and fall of the chairlift will be around 584 meters.

Naltar is a famous skiing resort located almost 15 kilometers away from Gilgit city. This serene valley is accessible by an unpaved road.
