Ground breaking ceremony of 200 KW hydel power project in Shimshal Valley

Gojal, July 4: GBLA Speaker Wazir Baig performed the ground-breaking ceremony of a 100KVA hydel power project in Shimshal Valley. The project will be completed at the cost of 100 million rupees within three years. MLA Mutabiat Shah was also present at the occasion.

A large number of people had gathered to attend the groundbreaking ceremony in Shimshal Valley. Local notables appreciated the region’s leadership for perofmring the ground-breaking ceremony.

Hunza Valley, in general, and Gojal, in particular, has been suffering due to power shortage. A major power project in Misgar has been pending more than a decade, despite of expenses worth tens of millions of rupees.

This 200 KW, o.2MW, project will benefit the society in Shimshal Valley. Generally, a 200 KW project can benefit up to 350 households.
